Israel says it bombed 9 tunnels as Part of their Ghettoization of Gaza, seven Palestinians wounded

from International Middle East Media Center

Israeli sources reported that the Israeli Air Force shelled six tunnels across the Gaza Egypt border on Tuesday and three more tunnels on Wednesday at dawn. The army claimed that the shelling came in retaliation to homemade shells fired into Israel.

A spokesperson of the Israeli Military stated that secondary explosions were seen after the army shelled one of the runnels, and added that this is an indicator that the tunnel had ammunition in it.

Meanwhile, medical sources in Gaza reported that six Palestinians were wounded in the Israeli shelling.

On Monday, the Israeli army said that Palestinian fighters fired a rocket into Ashkelon, and that parents in the city closed down schools after arguing that school buildings were not protected from rocket attacks, Israeli online daily Haaretz reported.

On Tuesday, US Secretary of State Clinton said that Israel cannot stand idle “while it is subjected to rocket attacks”.

The visiting US official justified the latest Israeli war on Gaza and did not mention Israel’s targeting of civilian facilities, including hospitals, medical centers, homes and even UN facilities. More than 1400 Palestinians, including women, elderly and children, were killed in the attack and thousands were injured.
