Israeli forces abduct three men in the Nablus region

from International Solidarity Movement

In the early morning of February 19th at approximately 3am, more than 40 Israeli soldiers invaded the town of Asira Ash-Shimailya, north of Nablus. The soldiers divided into three groups, fired sound bombs in the streets and entered at least four residences.

Three men, Ala Awwad Ash-Sholi, aged 31, Ammar Jarar’a, aged 29, and Ubay Hamadneh, aged 26, were arrested during the raid.

As the soldiers entered each house, the male residents were made to stand outside in the cold for more than an hour while all of the women were kept in one room. Israeli forces then proceeded to ransack two of the houses, breaking cupboards, a bread oven, and turning everything upside down.

They also brought dogs inside the houses as they went from room to room. The three arrested men were blindfolded, handcuffed, and taken away in military jeeps. Ala Awwad Ash-Sholi, a student in Jerusalem university, had his jaw broken in two places several weeks before he was arrested, yet his family was prevented from giving him his pain medication as he was taken away.

The whereabouts of all three abducted men is still unknown.
