Gaza blog: This is not a political blog!

SOS News via The Palestine Telegraph

Since I started writing this blog, I have never discussed any political matters or any of the ongoing political problems. But in the Gaza strip, politics has control over everything, even people's lives such as the way they dress or the type of food they eat as well as the medicine they take. In this blog I only write about the lifestyle of the people who live in Gaza Strip.

When I write about the pollution of the sea water and the sewage, that's because the siege prevents the proper equipment and the materials that are needed to purify the water entering Gaza.

When I write about the shortage of the necessary items in the markets, that is also due to the siege which prevents them from coming into Gaza.

When I write about the collapse of the construction and agriculture sectors because of the lack of the materials which increases the rates of unemployment and poverty, so the life is paralyzed because of the siege.

When I write about closure of the borders because of the siege I talk about how this keeps people and students from leaving Gaza Strip for health or educational purposes.

The siege on Gaza has brought an almost complete stop to the wheel of life in Gaza. The people have many worries and they have also lost their hopes. For example, what would a family man do when he is unemployed due to the closer of the factories and companies, and how does he feel when he sees his son or daughter is dying right in front of him because of the lack of medicines available? And how does he feel if he can't send any of his kids to school or college outside Gaza? Such matters are really hard to cope with, it is taking control over the minds in Gaza.

Under these ongoing conditions in Gaza, the SOS Children's Village is trying to provide services. The SOS Children's Village is also under siege itself - the people in the Village can't travel outside the Gaza Strip, but we are doing our best to work within limits to overcome the problems and challenges that we face and as well as the society the we live in. In my point of view, I think the people need help from the international society so they can have their own country and live freely like other nations in the world, and in that country the siege will end and also the occupation, everything will settle and that will lead to decrease of the rate of unemployment and poverty and opens new ways and hopes.
